Leaning Tower of Pisa
Drive to Pisa to visit the Leaning Tower of Pisa, a national treasure of Italy. The Leaning Tower of Pisa, originally an architectural failure, has become a world architectural wonder. The Leaning Tower of Pisa is the free-standing bell tower of the Cathedral of Pisa, located in the Piazza della Miracoli, north of Pisa, in the province of Tuscany, Italy. Scattered over the large lawn of the square is a group of religious buildings: the Cathedral (built between 1063 and the 13th century), the Baptistery (built between 1153 and the 14th century), the Bell Tower (the Leaning Tower of Pisa) and the Cemetery (the construction of the Leaning Tower of Pisa is actually part of the Duomo of Pisa, the entire church building is divided into). The main church, the baptistery and the bell tower are the three main parts of the building. The main church is in the Latin cross form, with elegantly designed columns.
The Cathedral of Pisa
The Cathedral of Pisa, also known as the Catholic Cathedral of the Assumption (Duomo di Santa Maria Assunta), located in Pisa"s Piazza della Miracoli in the Tuscany region of central Italy, is the episcopal cathedral of the Catholic Diocese of Pisa, built in the Middle Ages as a masterpiece of Romanesque architecture, representing the prestige and wealth of the Maritime Republic of Pisa.
Baptistery of Pisa (exterior)
The Baptistery of Pisa, built in 1152, is a mixed Romanesque and Gothic building with a huge dome with a diameter of 35 meters and four elaborately carved gates, a strong impression of the exterior. The interior has excellent lighting and acoustics.
The five fishing villages
The five fishing villages (CinqueTerre), located in the coastal region of the Italian province of La Spezia in the Liguria region, are a part of the MonterossoalMare, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, and the Liguria region. Manarola and Riomaggiore are the collective names of the five cliffside villages. In 1997, the five colourful villages, along with Portovenere, Palmaria, Tino, Tinto, and Manarola, were added to the list of villages on the cliff. In 1999, Tinetto is listed on the UNESCO World Heritage List as a national park.
